Preschool Program (ages 3-4)
We offer a structured program within a caring, loving atmosphere that allows children to grow, to experience new things, and to feel secure and capable in God’s world. Our goals for the children are to develop kindergarten readiness skills, to develop small and large muscle skills, to encourage creativity and decision making skills, to enjoy group interaction, to foster social development with peers and adults, and to develop language, pre-math, and pre-reading skills.
The curriculum is comprehensive and challenging. Christ is the center of all that we do while phonics, reading, writing and math weave together seamlessly throughout our school day. Our Classical Education model helps to develop our students socially, emotionally, academically, physically and spiritually in an environment that promotes the love of learning and the uniqueness of each child. Teachers employ a variety of teaching methods to help every student reach their potential. Students are surrounded by a supportive environment with emphasis placed on teaching students love for God and respect for each other. Our students also start being exposed to some Latin words and begin the grammar stage of classical education during these grade levels.
Middle School (Grades 5-8)
The middle school grades are taught by a team of teachers who encourage individual responsibility and accountability in Christ-centered classrooms. To foster community, students begin and end their day in homerooms, participate in school wide programs, and join together in field trips. Lessons in all subject areas integrate technology, engage middle school students, and appeal to individual learning styles.
Technology provides learning experiences which enhance and expand the learning beyond the textbook and class discussion. St. Raphael Catholic School is committed to providing students with a toolbox to learn more effectively, more in depth, and more authentic.
Currently, we provide students with authentic learning experience through an all-campus wireless network, a Mac computer lab, and Chromebooks for all teachers and 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.
