The Fifth graders have been working with Crystal Police Officer Wright over the last 9 weeks to complete the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) curriculum. In D.A.R.E., students learn life skills on how to make good decisions, how to get out of a difficult situation, and how to resist drugs and alcohol. The students have role played difficult situations and journaled in class about what they have learned in D.A.R.E. each week. As a conclusion, and a requirement to graduate from the program, students have written a personal essay. The top essays are chosen by Officer Wright and Mrs. Marsh and those students will have a special role at the graduation. D.A.R.E. graduation is next Thursday,May 18th in Marian Hall.
Congratulations to all of our fifth grade D.A.R.E. graduates!
