Wed. 3/17

March 17th, 2010

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Homework: math worksheets. We made leprechaun ears to wear and learned how Patrick spread God’s word in Ireland. I hope you can enjoy the beautiful day!

Tuesday 3/16

March 16th, 2010

Homework: math 102B and spelling sheet. Tomorrow we will have sharing for all – something about St. Patrick’s Day or anything green! One reminder for the Spring Fundraiser: if you want to donate something for our “family fun night” basket, please send in ASAP – tomorrow if possible. Thank you to all who have donated. We were inside for recess today due to rain. If you have any influence, a couple sunny days would be nice…at least during school hours! God Bless You!

Monday 3/15

March 15th, 2010

Hello, Spring!? Officially not until Saturday, but what a treat to have OUTDOOR RECESS again! Homework: math 101B. Spelling words: me, we, feed, keep, seat, beak, main, day, friends, knew; St. Patrick.

Thurs. 3/11

March 11th, 2010

Homework: study spelling words! The math fact paper is optional – do tonight or over the weekend and return. Read alone, with, or to someone for 10 minutes. Tomorrow is mass at 8:00am – we will be praying for “outdoor” recess!! Thank you, Lord!

Wed. 3/10

March 10th, 2010

Homework: math review worksheet (63 both sides). Tomorrow is library and girls sharing letter “M”. The class told me they were excellent in the cafeteria today! Woo-hoo!!! Progress is made…one day at a time. We had indoor recess due to the rain. Do you know how old Dr. Suess was on March 2nd? What is his “real” name?!

Tuesday 3/9

March 9th, 2010

Homework: math fact sheet 99; write each spelling word 2 more times and return. Today I received news from the cafeteria supervisor that some first graders are still having problems while eating. I spoke with the class today regarding these problems, including throwing food, dropping food/garbage or wrappers and not picking up, making a mess on the tray by mixing liquids, running around the room instead of sitting and eating their lunch, and a few other things. Please remind your child to mind their manners in the cafeteria. Unfortunately, it takes only a few to ruin the reputation of many. Tomorrow they will sit boy-girl-boy-girl while eating; the next step is in our classroom, with me, without recess. Spring is coming – not a time they want to be inside instead of out. I appreciate your help and so do those students who follow the rules every day. God Bless!

Monday 3/8

March 8th, 2010

Homework: math 99B. Spelling words this week: mail, rain, chain, way, play, day, cute, use, great, know, family; Jesus, leprechaun!  There are still students who cannot spell “Jesus.” I told the class EVERYONE gets it correct this Friday – or else!! Tomorrow we will have boys sharing – something that begins with the letter “M”. Thank you, thank you, for coming to conferences last week! It means a lot to your son/daughter that you were here, interested in how they are doing. I appreciate all of you!

Thurs. 3/4

March 4th, 2010

Homework: math 97B and spelling. Tomorrow we have mass at 8:00am. Many students have colds, coughs, runny noses and the area schools have had many absences. Please remind your child to wash their hands when they get home! We use lots of tissue and hand sanitizer each day, and wash our tables and chairs often. Thank you for your help. Prayers are needed for a special intention – please flood the heavens with prayers today! God Bless You!

Wed. 3/3

March 3rd, 2010

Homework: spelling – write each word “U” word in a sentence. (mule, use, tune, June, flute, cute) No math worksheet – we practiced math facts on the computer today with a cool new game! Ask your child about it (math command). Read alone, with, or to someone for 10 minutes. Tomorrow is library – please remember books. We made “potato people” with our buddies. Do you know what potatoes have to do with St. Patrick’s Day?! Have a nice evening and God Bless You!
