*Tomorrow, Wed. June 2nd, the students may be out of uniform for $1. The money will go to the Ianazzo family who had a house fire.

*Track and Field: your child’s library books must be in or paid for and your child’s lunch account must be at zero or above if they want to participate. If you volunteered to help you should be here at 10:30 a.m. for a short meeting.

*Kindergarten Celebration: on the last day of school, June 9th, at 10:15 a.m. the students have a short program for you. I will hand out certificates and we will remember our year together. The last day of school is scheduled until 12 noon. Lunch is served and there will be buses. However, if you would like to take your child home following the program, that is fine too. PLEASE let me know if you are taking your child after the program so I can keep track of those that are staying. Thanks!!

Literacy – We met Mr. X today!! He is different in a couple of ways. Ask your child to tell you how.

Religion – We will be learning about the Rosary.

Math – we will make ABBC patterns, divide by sharing and practice identifying left and right.

On Wednesday, June 2nd, students may be out of uniform for $1. The money raised will go to a family who recently had a house fire.

**Reminder: All library books must be turned in and lunch accounts must be paid for your child to participate in Track and Field Day on June 7th.

**Book orders are due this Friday, May 28th. I will place the order that afternoon and the order should come in by the following Friday at the latest.

*On Tuesday May 25th we will see the 3rd and 4th graders dress rehearsal for their spring program. It is at 1:00 in the gym.

*Mass: We will have the mass this Friday, May 28th. If your child has something to read they will bring in home today. Please practice with them every day.

*Last Day of School: the last day is June 9th at 12:00 noon. Lunch will be served at school that day. We will be doing our end of the year program at 10:15 a.m. If you want to bring your child home after that instead of them staying for lunch, you can.

Religion: We will be discussing faith and trust in God, even though we can not see him.

Literacy: Mr. Q will be here this week. He likes to ask questions!

Math: we will be working with playing cards, ABBC patterns and dividing by sharing.

**Uniform reminder: the students are allowed to wear shorts/capris now. However, remember that cargo pants type shorts, with pockets on the sides, are not uniform. Also, if your child uses an out of uniform pass they may not wear tank tops, the shoulders need to be covered. When your child wears a sweatshirt or sweater they are supposed to wear a collard shirt or a turtle neck underneath it. Also, sandals are not allowed at school, and white socks should always be worn.

**Track & Field Day: our track and field day is Monday June 7th at 11:00 a.m. The students may be out of uniform for this day. Your child should bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and sunglasses or a cap. If you returned the slip and said you could help with events that day, you should arrive at school at 10:30 a.m. for a meeting with Mr. J.

**Parent volunteers: I will not need any parent helpers this week. I am going to be gone on Thursday (5-20-10) and we will be doing something different on Friday. I have not explained to the kids about being gone on Thursday yet, so please don’t say anything to them. Thanks!!

Literacy: Ms. K and Ms. Y came today!! Ms. K has a kaboom kick, but also is known for being kind. Ms. Y has a yodeling yawn. On Tuesday we will talk about Mr. C and Ms. K’s sounds being the same.

Math: we will work with nickels and ABC patterns.

Religion: we will be continuing our unit on following Jesus.

The students may be out of uniform for the field trip. It is Green and White day! Yay!!

**Spring Program: Your child should be at school in their costume by 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday night. They are to meet Mrs. Jones in the cafeteria, NOT the gym.

**Field trip: Our field trip is this Thursday, May 13th. We will be leaving school by 8:00 and returning around 1:45 p.m. If you are chaperoning please be here and ready to go by 8:00. Your child will have to bring a bag lunch that can be thrown away after eating. PLEASE, NO lunch boxes or containers that can’t be thrown away.  Students should wear their uniform and be dressed for the weather. It may be chilly walking around outside.

*Religion – We will be learning about Jesus’ message, “Come follow me.”

*Literacy – Mr. C will come this week. He has a colossal cap. He will not come until Tuesday, so don’t discuss him with your child until then.

*Math – We will practice counting nickels by 5′s, ID a cylinder, and order objects by height.

**This Friday’s mass will be the May Crowning/First Communion celebration. Each student is asked to bring in a flower to place in our class’ vase. Please send ONLY a single flower. Each class will have a flower bearer bring the vase up to the altar to honor Mary.

Religion: We will be learning about Jesus’ miracles

Literacy: Ms. E, A.K.A., LetterLight E came today. She has exercise energy!! Later this week Ms. J will come. She has a jingle jingle jacket, but please don’t discuss her until after school on Thursday.

Math: We will create ABC patterns, and act out “some, some more” math stories

**We have planned a spring field trip to the Minnesota Zoo. We are still in the process of picking a date. We will be able to have a number of parents go with us, so when the permission slip comes home please mark if you would like to come. If your family has a season pass for the zoo, you can use that instead of paying for admission.

**Here is your first end of the year info: We will be having an “End of Kindergarten Celebration” on the last day of school (June 9th). It will start at approximately 10:15. You will want to bring your camera and some tissues. Believe it or not, it will come up FAST!!

We are still missing some class composite pictures. Please make sure your have one and that your child’s picture is in the middle. I still need some brown paper bags. Make sure your child returns his/hers. Thanks!!

**We are still in need of some snacks. If you have not sent any in this month or last, please do so. Also, make sure there are enough for 25 servings by checking in label on the side of the package. Thanks!!

Religion: We will review the parts of the mass.

Literacy: Mr. O will be here this week. He speaks and acts in opposites. Also, Mr. R will come later this week. He has rainbow ribbons.

Math: We will order objects by length, name a shape using 3 attributes, and use geoboards.

*Last week Mrs. Johnson, Owen’s mom,  started our 3 part Art Adventure lessons. She will continue this week and next week.

**Library: Sister Therese Ann will be letting students check out books until mid May, but it is time to make sure your child doesn’t have any overdue books.

When I sent home your child’s class composite picture before break they got mixed up. Please check to make sure your child’s picture is in the middle of the composite. If you have the wrong one, send it back so I can get you the correct one. Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.
