This is such a bitter-sweet day. To have to say ‘good-bye’ to my group of little friends is sad, yet to know that I played a part in their development this year is so rewarding. I am excited about next year and thrilled that I will see so many of your happy faces at the door of the four year old program. See you then!

Have a safe and restful summer.

May God bless you and your families.

Our focus today was on bumble bees and how they help in making new flowers and in giving us honey. The children made bumble bee head bands and we wore them as we paraded in the halls counting to number 13. We played a Bumble Bee counting game and we worked in recognizing the letter ‘b’ as we glued on a variety of foam bugs to the shape. The children are coming home with their headbands as well as the decorated letter ‘b’.

Enjoy the weekend with your family.

Good morning,

The children were busy in the ‘camping’ drama area of our classroom this morning. We cooked over the camp fire, we used our flashlights, we studied our plastic bugs. We talked about safety in the wonderful outdoors and how we should always stay with the adults. The children played a silly beach ball game where they had to give the color and a number that was written on that color section. We listened to two stories this morning, and we counted bug eggs. We also worked together on a ‘Leap Frog’ counting caterpillar puzzle. We made lady bugs which you should find in their backpacks.

What a wonderful day they had – and me too.

Enjoy the evening with your family.

Good morning from the 4 year old class,

The children were busy in Music class this morning working on their part for the Spring Concert. Remember, this concert is Tuesday evening the 11th. Mrs. Jones is having a dress rehearsal on Monday the 10th. The PreK children SHOULD come in costume. We will slip out of our costumes at the end of the practice and fold them neatly to be sent home with your child until the following evening’s performance.

In our classroom this morning , the children practice their end-of-the-year play. We read a wonderful informational book on ladybugs. We painted butterflies and we reviewed the letter ‘Ii’ . WOW! they were busy.

Enjoy the evening with your family.

Happy May Day (a day early),

The children celebrated the beginning of the wonderful month of May by making May Day baskets for you. They were just beautiful! Hope you enjoy them. The children also worked in small groups this morning to finish up some painting of our props for the end of the year play. They are so excited about putting this play together for your entertainment.

Our Spring Musical Concert is to be held on May 11th at 6:30. Our Four Year Old students will be part of the group preforming that evening. They will join the older children in the beginning of the program to sing several opening songs. They will then be dismissed to join their families in the audience while the older children sing their specialized songs. At the conclusion of these songs, our PreK students will be invited to return to the stage for the final song(s). This is always a wonderful evening. Please plan on joining us!

Have a wonderful weekend with your family.

Good morning,

We had another busy day in the three yr old program. The children reviewed simple counting and letter recognition during a circle activity. Later we read a story about birds and ducks, including how they make their nests and we studied several pictures of bird/duck eggs. We followed up this activity with making a silly picture of a little duck hatching from an egg. This activity gave the children the opportunity to strengthen their fine muscle control with cutting and the use of the glue sticks as well as using their listening skills. These pictures can be found in their backpacks today. The children also finished up our unit on seeds/plants/spring by making their own individual gardens. We planted marigold seeds and maybe, just maybe they will grow. Some of us got carried away with watering, some of us wanted more dirt – you get the idea. But it was fun!

Enjoy the weekend with your family.
