Wednesday – math l.# 132 – dividing a two-digit number by a one-digit number with a remainder (hard) – music

religion – we are people of prayer – study chapter 24 and faith words for test tomorrow

reading – “Early Years of Ben Franklin”

science – grassland ecosystem

writing – write letter to their buddies wishing them well in high school and thanking them for the shared activities

Thursday – math l.# 133 – simplifying expressions with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division – gym & music- May Home Reading Log is Due

reading – “Droofus the Dragon”

religion – test on chapter 24

writing -last journal writing – it will come home – they write each Thursday about whatever that date is honoring , birthdays, firsts, etc

science – water ecosystems-study chapter B1, vocabulary, and packet for test tomorrow

Friday – Mass – spelling test -May Home Reading Logs are due- computer – I’ll become a grandma again this day, might leave at lunch hour to be with my son as his wife has a c-section – your kids will let you know what they had :)

religion – begin chapter 25 – we profess our faith

writing – put their monthly stories into a book – write me a letter telling me what they liked and didn’t like about our classroom topics

science – test

Tuesday – math l.# 128 – adding positive and negative numbers – library – no gym or highlights journals due to dress rehearsal- clothing needs to follow rules for out of uniform days, so no sandals, tank tops etc.

religion – private and public prayer – study chapter 23 and faith words for test tomorrow(it will be easy 9 questions due to concert)

science – photosynthesis

Wednesday – math l.# 129 – identify location of a point on a coordinate plane – music

religion – test and learn the Apostle’s Creed

science – begin a study of ecosystems – we’ll be going outside and studying the ecosystem within a stretched out metal hanger-Study chapter 1A, vocabulary and packet

reading – “The Knee High Man” – skill – draw conclusions about characters from what they say

Thursday – math l. # 130 – graphing points on a coordinate plane – gym & music

religion – begin chapter 24 – prayers of petition and intercession – we’ll begin a prayer wall, ask them to explain

science – test on chapter 1A

Friday – Mass – spelling test

religion – prayers of blessing

math – rounding numbers to the nearest thousand & comparing and ordering numbers to 10,000

May 12-16 Thursday, May 15 is a Spirit Day – student principals for a day said $1.00 will get you an out of uniform day

 Could use 1 more chaperone for the field trip Tuesday morning – one can’t make it.  If anyone is available, e-mail me. 
Monday – math l.# 123 – locating negative numbers on a number line – art & Spanish – send cold lunch tomorrow or order bag lunch – no hot lunch

Tuesday – math l. #$ 124 – dividing a 2 digit number by a one-digit number – library & gym – field trip 9:15 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.-”Bodyology” – body systems 6 0f our students will be going on a limo ride with pizza for lunch- Congratulations on great magazine sales to Bernadette and Elizabeth Hepp, Bobby Pelletier, Kevin Wagner , and Alex and Max Wiczek(need pink forms returned)

May 5-8 – no school Friday 5/9

Goal setting forms for the standardized tests went home on Friday – check the growth columns – most students went up  – beyond their goals – great job. The official forms will go home in their report cards. The staff will be using the information in the forms over the next few weeks to determine goals for next year. The class did especially well in Language – due to all of their hard work on verbs, adjectives, types of sentences, forms of poetry, letter writing, creative writing etc. They are doing a wonderful job with their fantasy stories about time travel. Their stories are fun to read as they incorporate dialogue and describing words in their storytelling. It is a 5 paragraph story, longest one all year.  Permission slips coming home for our trip on May 13 to Hopkins Performing Arts Center for presentation of “Bodyology” – bags may be ordered for lunch, no hot lunch that day for our class.  A few April Home Readings Logs need to be returned.  If it is lost, write a note telling how much they read.

Busy week -Tuesday – Arby’s 5:00 -9:00 p.m. for dinner/snacks, a % comes back to the school, Art Fair 6-7:30 p.m.- clay dude will be here along with student work Wednesday – Cupcake sale 25 cents for 1, or 5/$1 – send containers to bring them home in -Pizza lunch for Hayley, Otto, and Maybelle for high AR Scores Thursday – Green and White Day – Happy Mother’s Day on Sunday – hope you are all pampered

Monday – math l.# 120 – multiplying by 8 (they started their tests to earn banana splits, all passed 1’s&2’s) art &Spanish

religion – Psalm #104 – praises and thanks God for creation – work on booklet

reading – “Everett Anderson’s Friend” a story about a new neighbor written in poetry form – skill – drawing conclusions from what you know about a character

science – muscular system

writing – fantasy stories need to be completed in order to be edited – (those who hadn’t finished were to take them home over the weekend)

Tuesday – math l. # 121 – finding the volume of a rectangular prism – library & gym

religion – stewardship – living the 7th commandment

science – digestive system

Wednesday – math l.# 122 – dividing two and three-digit multiples of 10 by a one-digit number using mental computation – music

religion – thanking God for the harvest – study chapter 21 and faith words for test tomorrow

reading – the next 3 stories will be nonfiction in a story format – ” Digging up the Past/The House on Maple Street” – skill – sequencing

science – circulatory system

writing – share time travel stories with the class

Thursday – math – no homework – identifying factors of a number and identifying prime numbers less that 20 – spelling test – gym & music Green and White Day

religion – test on chapter 21 – lesson about Pentecost, which is this Sunday

science – respiratory system
