The Midwest states and capitals test will be on Tuesday, March 3. Here are some study aids. Please study.
Spelling: Lesson 18 Review. All students do pages 72, 73, 74 and 75. Workbook is due Wednesday. Test is on Thursday.

Religion: Chapter 12 test will be an in-school test on Thursday, Feb. 5. Please study.
Catholic Schools Week: To celebrate Catholic Schools Week in fourth grade, I serve breakfast one morning. Tuesday will be breakfast in school. I will serve cereal and oranges.
AR: Return the 3rd quarter goals, if you have not already done so.
Social Studies: States and capitals for the Midwest will be sent home this week. The test will be on Tuesday, March 3. Please study.

T – Crazy Hat or Hair Day (in uniform) Breakfast in fourth grade.
W – Comfy Day for $1
Th – Sport/Team clothes (out of uniform)
F – Mass (in uniform)
Spelling: Lesson 17 Standard group does p. 68, 69, 70. Challenge group does p. 71 (not part I) and the challenge activities. Challenge words are ease, folks, furnish, lumber, alert, agreement, allowance, bargain, biscuit, caterpillar. Because of the short week, spelling work is due Thursday and the test will be on Friday.
Math: T – L66 W – SL67 Th – L67 F – L69
Religion: Take-home test due tomorrow, Wednesday, January 21.
Report cards: Report cards will be sent home on Thursday, January 22.
AR: New goals need to be set for quarter 3. A sheet will be sent home later this week. Please decide on a goal with your child and sign the sheet before it’s returned.
Spelling: Lesson 16 Standard group does p. 64, 65, and 66. Challenge group does p. 67 (including part I) and the challenge activities. Challenge words are: beauty, duty, fuel, insure, stored, restaurant, listen, muscle, accurate, advertisement.
Math: M – L64 T – Supplemental L65 W – L65 Th – Test, worksheet for homework
AR: I will grade quarter goals Wednesday after students have taken any final quizzes. New goals will be set for next quarter. I will send a sheet home for input later this week.
Reading: Continue to read and record minutes at home. Each month is worth 50 points, so it’s a significant part of the reading grade.
Religion: We will finish up chapter 11 later this week. A take home test on that chapter is due on Wednesday, January 21.
Quarter: The second quarter ends this Thursday, January 15. No school on Friday. Reports cards will be sent home next week.
MLK: No school on Monday in honor of Martin Luther King.
Spelling: Lesson 15 Standard group does p. 60, 61, 62. Challenge group does p. 63 (including part I). Challenge words are earlier, balcony, salad, shawl, seize, graduation, principal, religious, safety, through.
Math: M – Investigation 6, worksheet T – L 61 W – L62 Th – L63 F – Supplemental L64
Reading: December Reading Records are due today. They can be returned Tuesday without a late penalty.
AR: Continue to work toward your second quarter goal.
Social Studies: The NE State project is due on Wednesday, January 7. See separate post for details. The research sheets must also be turned in. We will work on those today and tomorrow in school. Students who are behind may have to complete them at home. We have already worked on them several days before vacation.
Green and White Day: Thursday, January 8.
Religion: There will not be a chapter 10 test. I thought it was too busy around the holidays to add one more thing. We did a chapter review, using our books, in the lab instead.
